Dear Senior Parents/Guardians,

Beginning Monday, August 3, we will begin helping seniors create their Tennessee Higher Education (THEC) Student Portal accounts. Many students may already have an account, especially those who have participated in Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses. However, we want to ensure that every senior has an active account.

If your student is enrolled in Dual Enrollment, please help us by ensuring they are on campus for homeroom each day next week that we are in school. This means they will need to arrive on campus by 10:45 a.m. so they can participate in setting up their account.

Creating this account is an important first step because students will use it to complete the Tennessee Promise Scholarship application and access other higher education opportunities. Please review the attached images, which outline the information students will need to successfully create their accounts. Additionally, please ensure that your student knows his or her Social Security number, as it is required to create the account.

We also encourage you and your senior to attend our Senior Parent Meeting during Open House on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 6:30-7:00pm. During this meeting, we will provide important information about:

Tennessee Promise

Tennessee Direct Admissions

College application timelines

Other important senior-year deadlines and opportunities

Then, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, all seniors will complete and submit their Tennessee Promise application during school.

Thank you for your support as we help prepare the Class of 2027 for a successful transition after high school. We look forward to partnering with you throughout this exciting year!

Welcome back! We hope you and your family have had a wonderful summer. We are excited to welcome our students back and begin another great school year!

To help ensure a smooth start, we will begin the school year with a staggered start schedule:
Wednesday, July 29: Students with last names A–K will attend.
Thursday, July 30: Students with last names L–Z will attend.
Friday, July 31: All students attend.

School doors open at 7:30 a.m. Classes begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to arrive early to allow plenty of time to get to class before the first bell.

To save time, we encourage families to pay school fees online in advance through www.myschoolbucks.com.

📌 Please also mark your calendars for our William Blount High School Open House on Tuesday, August 11. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet teachers, tour the school, and learn more about the year ahead. Additional details will be shared soon.

💙 Our faculty and staff are looking forward to welcoming students back to campus and making this an outstanding year filled with learning, growth, and success. Thank you for your continued support of William Blount High School.

Senior Students and Parents/Guardians,

We want to provide a few important updates and clarifications regarding Paint Your Senior Spot on Saturday, July 25.

Parking Fees: Both parking fees must be paid before you can paint your senior parking spot: a $25 Parking Permit Fee and a $40 Painted Parking Spot Fee.

Parking Spot Selection:
Parking spaces will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. If you purchased a Painted Parking Spot, you are expected to paint your selected space. Please note that the parking tag number on your permit is not your assigned parking space. The tag number is used only to register your vehicle. On the day of the event, you will choose any available parking space ,and that space will become your assigned parking spot for the school year.

Check In Process: All parking spot designs must be approved by school administration before painting begins. There will be two tables set up outside the Main Campus entrance:

  • Design Approval Table: For seniors who still need their parking spot design approved. Students must bring a completed Design Approval Form with them.

  • Pre-Approved Design Check-In Table: For seniors who have already emailed their design and received approval.
For a shorter line wait, you may email your design in advance to
keely.landers@blountk12.org. If your design has already been approved, you may check in at the designated table and start painting.

Painting Timeline: The official event will take place from 8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25th. However, seniors who have paid for parking may paint their approved spot after school hours through August 8.

All parking spots must be completed by August 8.

Weather: If weather impacts the event, we will communicate a rain date. A final decision will be made later this week.

Saturday Morning Pictures: Seniors attending football pictures on Saturday morning may reserve a parking spot by parking their vehicle in the space they wish to claim. You may return later that day and/or another time to paint your spot. All parking spot designs must be approved by school administration before painting begins.

We look forward to seeing everyone's creativity on display!

For further questions about Paint Your Senior Spot, please email keely.landers@blountk12.org.

Parking Lot Flyer

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we have reviewed how student parking operates. We have made some slight adjustments to ensure our school administration team can focus their time and efforts directly where they matter most: inside the classrooms, supporting our students, and maximizing instructional time.

To streamline operations and ensure a fair process for everyone, please review the updates to the parking guidelines below:

STUDENT PARKING FLYER

  • Senior Painted Spots (Reserved) : Seniors have the unique opportunity to reserve and personalize a specific parking space for the year. To secure a reserved spot, please complete and submit:

  • Standard Student Parking (First-Come, First-Served): All students who purchase a parking permit may park in any student-designated parking space on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Open Parking Flow: We know every student has unique needs, schedules, and after-school activities. Therefore, apart from the reserved Senior painted spots, all student parking is first-come, first-served. Students may park in any available student space that fits their daily needs.

  • Restricted Areas: Students are strictly prohibited from parking in designated staff or visitor parking spaces at any time.

We understand that adjustments to school routines can be challenging, but this shift allows our administrative team to be highly visible and active in supporting your students' daily learning and safety.

Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in making this a fantastic school year. If you have specific questions, please contact Mrs. Harris or Mr. Bethel.
